Hello – Thank you for stopping by. I’m John Brooks, the founder of Nutrition 361.

Based in suburban Chicago, I work with clients around the globe. I hold a B.S. in Biology from DePaul University and an M.S. in Nutrition & Wellness from Benedictine University.

As a Certified Sports Nutritionist with the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN), Precision Nutrition certified, and a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC), I’m passionate about helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. I continually expand my expertise through ongoing education because I love what I do.

With over 15 years in the health and fitness industry—including extensive experience in the supplement sector—I have a deep understanding of supplements and the scientific evidence for and against their use.

When I’m not coaching clients or spending time with my family, you’ll find me training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where I hold a black belt. I also enjoy resistance training and love running 5Ks with my wife.

Services

First and foremost, I offer true one-on-one nutrition coaching. I do not have a one-size-fits-all approach, rather I study the available evidence and use my experience to help you achieve your goals.

You will never hear me say things such as, you need to eat clean (what does that even mean) or you need to just try harder as these coaching clichés are nonstarters and really do not help you get to your goals.

One of the things I do best is find what barriers and limiting factors are keeping you from reaching your goals and finding solutions.

I understand how daunting habit change can be when past failures enter your mind. Below are some more details about working with me:

Why work with me?

  • I give you the what, how, and why so you learn and proceed into long term change.

  • I sincerely care about your results and treat you as I wish to be treated.

  • Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Wellness.

  • Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) with the International Society of Sports Nutrition.

  • Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) and Training for Warriors Level 2 certified.

  • Over 15 years of experience in the industry.

  • I love food and cooking, therefore I take a flexible approach to nutrition.

  • Those are my abs, i.e. I practice what I preach.

  • You can choose to travel to my office at 1701 Quincy Ave., Suite 26, Naperville, IL 60540 or we can meet online, regardless of the mode of communication you get customized attention.
