When you work with me, I gather your information to customize a nutrition plan that is made for you to reach and maintain your goals. This is done by taking a flexible approach that is easy to follow, so a busy schedule is not a limiting factor.
Perhaps you’ve failed in the past due to a lack of accountability or tried to follow a diet too rigid for everyday life. Many succeed in the short-term following a fad diet, however it inevitably fails as life happens. I work with you to develop sustainable eating habits that stand up to the stresses of life.
When you “fail” from a plan that is too rigid, it affects your mental health and confidence in your ability to succeed. In my personal experience and the evidence demonstrates this, fad diets are not sustainable and trick you into an energy deficit (temporarily) through unnecessary food avoidance.

No worries! I work with you on the nutrition side, so we can work together to compliment what you are doing with your current fitness regimen.

Weight loss & accountability
Too often weight loss involves a diet riddled with unnecessary food avoidance. The key word here is unnecessary. Although some succeed in the short term with these diets, inevitably unnecessary food intake avoidance isn’t sustainable. All successful weight loss diets involve an energy deficit and fad diets trick people into them. I will teach how to sustain an energy deficit to reach your goal and do so while building good, sustainable habits, and a healthier relationship with food and fitness.
Building muscle
This is a key component to successful weight loss. In other words, we will focus on fat loss. Our goal is to improve your body composition so you lose bodyfat, build/maintain muscle, increase joint integrity, mobility, and bone density. If you’re not looking to lose weight and want to gain weight/build muscle we can achieve that goal too.
As we age osteopenia (bone loss) and sarcopenia (muscle loss) becomes a concern. The good news is with proper resistance training and nutrition this can be reversed.
Sports nutrition
If you have sports specific goals, we can work together to ensure that your diet is optimized to give you the best body composition for your optimal performance. Different sports require specific methods, everything from weight gain to body recomposition. I have experience across many domains from working with numerous athletes. I’ve worked with football and lacrosse players, elite endurance athletes competing in triathlons, marathons, etc. to dial in their recovery, body composition, and hydration strategies. Given my background in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, I’ve also worked with numerous high level mixed martial artists on weight cutting, recovery, and overall performance improvement.
Macro coaching
If you’re confused about macros, let’s work together to clear things up. Perhaps you’ve used an online calculator and want to know if your numbers are accurate. Also, many aren’t sure what macros are best for their goals, be it fat loss, building muscle, gaining weight, etc. In my experience there’s a lot of confusion about carbohydrates, protein, fat, and how alcohol affects performance and health. Yes! This is actually common. Many clients start with a premium plan for the first 1-3 months then transition to a lite coaching program. Once you have a better grasp of things one call per month with email support is plenty.
No. The consultation call is 100% obligation free. My goal isn’t to sell you a plan as the best relationships are 100% voluntary. I never want a client to feel like they’ve been sold and have buyer’s remorse. In addition to discussing your goals, the call is to determine if I can help you achieve your goals and if you’re ready for change. This is why I don’t have a direct payment link on my site. I want to ensure I am the right coach for you and you’re ready for change.
Yes. If you need more 1-on-1 attention you can switch at any time.
One-on-one services give you varying levels of access to John for support via in-person (depending upon location), phone calls, screen shares, e-mail and text messaging.
One-time services are customized services with an initial call and screen share to review the plan and apps. These services are also available on an on-going basis where macro nutrient levels, training programs etc. are updated monthly.
Group training is a service where one gets access to the training app and a training program for those with limited equipment available. Most of these exercises are body-weight, resistance bands, and a kettlebell or dumbbell. There is a supportive community and John will give feedback in the group chat.
